Fingerboarding vznikl v Americe v době, kdy začínal skateboarding. Začaly se vyrábět přívěsky ve tvaru skateboardů. Jak se vyvíjel skateboarding a nové triky, všichni si je začali zkoušet i na fingerboardech. A tak časem vznikla firma TechDeck, která začala vyrábět fingerboardy a vyrábí je dodnes ( jsou však jenom z plastu). Fingerboardů se prodává hodně. U TechDeck fingerboardů dostanete i příslušenství ( to však dlouho nevydží). Skatepark pro fingerboard se dá koupit v některých skateshopech, nebo na oficiální stránce TechDecku a pokud máte šikovný ruce tak si to můžete vyrobit sami a vyjde to o hodně levnějc. V dnešní době profesionálové ( jako my) nejezdí na plastech, ale na dřevě ( díha). V ČR nejkvalitnější desky vyrábí www.fingafingerboards.com a www.fingermasters.estranky.cz, za docela dobrý peníz.
